I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. HEB 13.5- be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” PSALM 16:8- I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Providence of God? DEFINITION - That from the beginning of time God installed a plan that ordered the course of events towards Jesus. History and our personal stories possess significance only in light of the Incarnation of Christ.

WE’RE ASKING THE QUESTION TODAY ARE OUR LIVES PURPOSE DRIVEN OR DRIVEN BY FATE.

PURPOSE DRIVEN- GOD IS BEHIND THE ORCHESTRATION OF WHAT HAPPENS

FATE DRIVEN- WE ARE AT THE WHIM OF LIFE . CAUSE/EFFECT

WE READ THE WORD OF GOD LIKE THIS… WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ME?

WHAT DOES THIS SAY TO ME?

HOW SHOULD I ADJUST MY LIFE BASED ON THIS SCRIPTURE TO GET A MORE FAVORABLE OUTCOME.

GOD’S WORD = A LOVE STORY OF PURPOSE FILLED EVENTS ALWAYS POINTS IN THE DIRECTION OF JESUS.

GENESIS- IT IS GOOD // REVELATION - ENDS WITH A NEWLY CREATED PLACE CENTERED AROUND CHRIST

THE TENSION LIES IN THE FACT THAT WE STILL HAVE CHOICE. DOES THAT LEAVE GOD REACTING TO OUR DECISIONS?

THE PROVIDENTIAL PLAN OF GOD WHICH HE DETERMINED AHEAD OF TIME MADE WAY FOR MAN’S CHOICES AND FOLLOWED UP WITH HIS GRACE. EVERY CHOICE, GOOD OR BAD, SANCTIFIED OR SINFUL IS STILL MET WITH HIS GRACE.

MT10.31- Are not Two Sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

SLIDE- The providential plan of God is a Purpose Driven planned from the beginning to the very end that is pointed towards the salvation of mankind through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

NO ACCIDENTS/MISTAKES/REGRETS

R8:28- and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Charles Spurgeon said once, “ God's Providence is nothing more than his goodness in action.”

“The doctrine of the Providence of God tells us that the world and our lives are not ruled by chance or by fate but by God who lays bare his purposes of Providence in the Incarnation of his Son.” He makes no apologies for the fact that everything in history is for the point of his Son, Jesus.

Close: so God the decision that we must make today is simply that while I don't always understand your plan I must submit to your Providence, and to your goodness. Inherently I believe in my heart and I will purposefully remember that your purpose is that all people come to a point of repentance, that all people understand and can fully grasp the goodness of God in light of our current circumstances.
