There is a war going in the schools against your children vote for me.
More guns on the street vote for me.

The darkness is given a platform. We are bumrushed with images of how dark the world is. How spooky the world is. They paint the picture that being a Christian is to always be living in fear of what the darkness is going to bring.
We fall for it. They going to take away my house, my rights, my kids, my family, my……We mark our lives from disaster to disaster. 2017 was Harvey. 2020 was the pandemic. 2022 was when my niece decided that her gender was fluid. It’s dark
But I’ve been sent to deliver a word form the Lord. Today. A healing word. A good word. The good news.

LOOK TOWARDS THE LIGHT.
Text: Explanation
Explanation of the first 4 verses that leads up to Light.
Creation. “Let there be light”
Morality. “Good and evil”
Jesus himself.
“Let there be light and there was light”
Light existed on the 1st day, but the sun and the stars and moon weren’t created to the fourth day. Where was that Light coming from.
Jesus is always shining
Jesus is always shining
12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
He was shining before he became a man. As the Living Word of God Jesus the second member of the trinity was holding all things together and was sustaining all life on the planet. It was him that crossed the people of Israel over the red sea.

He was the commander of the Lord’s army when they asked whose side he was on. He said neither.
There are people now who call themselves deep who are calling into question whether there was a man named Jesus who appeared on the scene at 0 AD. Well our bible let’s us know that he has always been, but that this Son of God took on flesh at that time, but he was no less powerful before he took on flesh than he was after. And that he has always been shining his light. There has been no diminuition of his light
It is him walking and talking to people through the 33 years.

shines is a present tense in English and in the original language. Which means. He is shining right now.
Light isn’t intimidated by darkness. When I turn on this light, the only thing that drowns out light is more light.
When you bring more darkness it only makes the light more clearly.
So it doesn’t matter how dark it gets, it only makes the light shine brighter. Look towards the light.
Darkness is working against Jesus.
Darkness is working against Jesus.
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
There is conflict between between
The presence of shadow means that light is winning.
Because the fact that you can see shadow means that light is even illuminating the shadow. No light then the receptors in your eyes can’t see shadow.
So that Light and darkness are not two equally opposing forces. Light is ever marching on, and darkness is decreasing.
And that the presence of shadow means that light is winning and not losing.
Let me be plain. The presence of pain or suffering or sadness or sorrow in your life doesn’t mean that the darkness is taking over. It means that light is winning. Because how can you grieve over the sad times, if you have never seen the comparison of what the good can be.
The psalmist will say it this way. Even though I walk through the very shadow of death, I fear no evil, why because the light is with him.
The presence of shadow means that light is winning but darkness is struggling to try to hold on.
The Darkness did not overtake Jesus
The Darkness did not overtake Jesus
did not comprehend it, could not overtake. An event in the past.
4 We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.
26 Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.”
28 Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him.
29 Some thought that, because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
30 So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. And it was night.

Darkness is Void = O Just One Lighit. 1+0+0+0=1.
