Matthew 25:31–34 NKJV

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

this speak of the last days

when Jesus comes in glory

which is when Jesus will judge the world

its further described in Rev 20:11-15

Revelation 20:11–15 (NKJV)

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

How glorious can a face be that Heaven and Earth run from it

Hebrews gives a little understanding as to why His face is great

Hebrews 1:3 NKJV

3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

He is the brightness of Gods glory...

yet while heaven earth flee from it

we all will be confronted with it....

In our section in Matthew 25,

all the nations are gathered before Jesus

and then He will separate them

Sheep & Goats

Sheep are connected with believers in the Bible

& Goats are connected with the opposite of believers

those who rejected Jesus

those that chose their sin over God

Trust me you may feel like your doing just fine seperated from God now...

but you wont then

can we just appreciate that in verse 34 it says “then The King”

I dont care what president is next… Jesus is the final King

not just of a nation

Jesus is the final King of the world!

but why does the king separate?

its seen in verses Matthew 25:35–36

Matthew 25:35–36 NKJV

35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

So the believers fed Jesus, gave Him something to drink, took care of Him, clothed Him, visitied Him in sickness and prison...

idk about you but when you read this i am like

when was the last time you saw Jesus?

and even if you did....

did you see Jesus hungry, thirsty, in need of clothes, or to be visited?

thats exactly what the believers ask in verses 37-40

Matthew 25:37–40 NKJV

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

This is the marker of believers:

feeding the hungry

giving water to thirsty

clothing the poor

visiting and caring for the sick

visiting and caring for those in prison

when was the last time you did any of those?

have you ever done them all?

let me word it this way

if your life is about your comfort

maybe you need to think what side your playing for?

maybe you think well my parents that are christans dont, or my friends dont

maybe dont worry about what side they are on

until you are on the right side

set the example first

be a Christian first

now obviously were not talking about salvation

were not saved by works but by trusting in Jesus

but if you have your sin the worst darkest part of your life forgiven…

because God loves you

well you can give back a little bit of love back

as much as you have freely received freely give.

Matthew 10:8 (NKJV)

8...Freely you have received, freely give.”

but those who have not freelly receive dont freely give

Luke 7:47 NKJV

47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

Why do I love Jesus a lot

because He forgave a lot of my sin

and because what Jesus cares about is the hurting in this broken world

so do I.

but for those focused on themselves they dont care about the sick or poor unless it gives themselves glory.

Jesus addresses the them in verses 41-46

Matthew 25:41–46 NKJV

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ 44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

LEts not live for our comfort

but look after others

Philippians 2:1–4 NKJV

1 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
