Introduction
Good day to everyone
This month of November we have started a new series called Wiining Your Battles Through Prayer and Fasting
Today I will be speaking to you on the topic We draw near to God through Prayer
My Scripture is taken from James 4:8 and it says
Scripture
Body
All of us have battles in our lives that we face on a daily basis.
As long as we are in this world we will have battles but Jesus says we should take heart because he has overcome this World.
Many times we have battles and we go to all the wrong sources to help us.
In this portion of Scripture, James reminds us who we should be drawing close to when we have issues in life.
Today I want to admonish you that whatever situation you are in, you need to draw near to God and you do this by going to him in prayer.
God longs to hear from you.
He is your best friend and wants what is best for you but many times we draw close to every other thing and we leave him hanging.
We are in the month of November and November is the only month that has the word No, in it.
You have to say No, to the things of this World which cannot help you and say Yes to God.
Draw near to him.
He can help you through your storm.
Many times we mess up and we do like Adam and we run and hide from God.
We feel worthless.
I want you to notice something about the verse above.
Notice that we are told to draw near to God before we're told to stop sinning.
There are so many people who have it backwards.
They think they can never come to God, can never have a relationship with Him, and can never be a Christian because they have issues in their life that they are trying to overcome first.
They are trying to get themselves all straightened out so they can be good enough to have a relationship with Him.
He says in this scipture that if you need your hands cleanse you need to draw near to him.
If you needs you hearts purified he is the only one who purify it.
There is no way we can cleanse ourselves from sin unless we draw near to God through prayer.
Today my admonition for you is to draw near to God in prayer.
He longs to hear from you today.
He promises if you will draw near to me I will draw near to you.
Conclusion
The Eagle does not fight the snake on the ground.
It picks it up into the sky and changes the battle ground, and then it releases the snake into the sky.
The snake has no stamina, no power and no balance in the air.
It is useless, weak and vulnerable unlike on the ground where it is powerful wise and deadly.
Take your fight into the spiritual realm by praying and when you are in the spiritual realm God takes over your battles.
Don't fight the enemy in his comfort zone, change the battle grounds like the Eagle and let God take charge through your earnest prayer
Draw near to God through prayer and he will Draw near to you
