As an older Firefighter what is it you set before the new guys.

Encouragement
recognition
you command certain things
you teach certain things
you guys immerse yourself in all things fire dept
you guys set an example for the younger one to follow
This passage today is written by Paul wrighting to younger preacher
telling him how to lead the people under him
1 Timothy 4:6-8 “If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”
Paul is telling Timothy to put an example of Godliness before the people he is over
1 Timothy 4:11Command and teach these things.”
1 Timothy 4:12-13 “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.”
Be an example
speech
conduct
love
faith
purity
1 Timothy 4:15-16 “Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
As Christens do we train as hard for our christen life as we do our professional life
are we the example for others to see what it looks like to be a christen
are we immersed in Gods word and all things holy
do we practice
speech
conduct
love
faith
purity
your firefighting will come to an end one day
your working out training will come to an
the only thing that doesn’t come to an end is you
you will end up living eternally in heaven or hell
the scripture we read today say
1 Timothy 4:8 “for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
we train for what is to come in the fire service. Are we training for for what is to come in out life.

the 1 thing you had to do before you could train like a fire fighter is get on and join the fire station

not everyone gets to get on the fire dept
not everyone gets to train with us
But
Romans 10:13 “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””

that is where you start than you can start training for your future
