A God For Uncertain Times

Death presents a problem that we can’t do anything about. . .from our own power.

This is why it is important that we turn to Christ in these difficult times.

There is comfort, peace, and strength in Christ

Mark 4:35-41 “On that day, when evening came, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.”

Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him. #1 Consumed with the affairs of life

And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. #2 The suddenness of storms [unexpected, intense]

Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” #3 Sometimes it feels like Jesus is not there [pray, commit, saved]

And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. #4 Notice Jesus is unaffected by the storm

And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? How is it that you have no faith?” #5 Is my trust in the right place

They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?””

The Galilee Storm

The sea is 680 feet below sea level, surrounded by hills that send the cool air from the heights of Mt. Hermon hurtling through their ravines that serve as giant wind tunnels to collide with the warm, moist air flowing east from the Mediterranean Sea. The result can produce a very dramatic storm. VERY SUDDEN.

Remember your lost one

Remember that Jesus is the answer to our death problem

Have you done what was required to be saved from sin and death?

Rom 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Acts 4:12 ““And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.””

Eph 1:13 “In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,”
