Our Father....

We can only say this because of your Son, Jesus Christ, and his perfect redemption that he acquired for us and that is applied to us by the Holy Spirit.
Only in him can we truly say to you, “our Father in heaven...”

Thy Kingdom Come

It also because of your great plan of redemption and the great work of your Son that we pray your kingdom come....
One day, everything sad will come untrue and the good things of this world will yield the greatest expression of your creation as the filth and corruption of sin is washed away and the glory of God in all things is revealed.
We see hints of the coming kingdom in our fellowship as we did Monday night! We see hints of your kingdom spreading as you continue to add people to your church and to The Crossing. We see hints of your kingdom as The Crossing glorifies you by loving and serving in the Rio Grande Valley.
We see hints of your kingdom in the renewal of health, in recuperation from sickness and infirmity such as in the cases of Grace and Lily. We thank you for the means that you used to restore them to health and look forward to the day when our glorified bodies will be rid of all sickness and disease that we may worship and serve you!
We continue to pray for your will to be done. We pray for wisdom and guidance in our own lives as individuals. We pray for spiritual strength and motivation to take up the means of grace in the Scriptures everyday that we may grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We also pray for wisdom as a people here at the Crossing to know how to serve you by serving our community. We pray for wisdom in sharing the gospel as that is the greatest task that you have left for your church in the Great Commission.

Daily Bread (Petition)

We bring many petitions to you....
We ask that you be with our leaders and those powers that be to give them wisdom especially in choices that affect lives of so many people who rely on good wages and decent prices to have the necessities of life. We pray for our economy and everything that supplies our “daily bread.”
We continue to pray for health issues for your people of the Crossing: Sofia, Olivia and Eloisa Aleman, Eric, (Dan and Max for backpains), for Adam with the Flu (we are thankful the symptoms were only minor for him), for Claudia as she deals with a migraine,
We pray for parents that you continue to give us wisdom and strength to raise them, to not provoke them to anger but to nurture them in the fear of the Lord
We pray for our elected official in all areas of government. We pray for the election process, we pray for the political climate in our country. Let us, especially as your people, remember your words to not put our hope in princes or men that are but dust. Let us not put our hope in worldly ideologies and politics for the good life, but in your kingdom
We pray for Russia and Ukraine. We pray that the war would end. We pray that the oppression of Russia would end. We pray that the peace of your kingdom would infect the disease of war as your church in both those countries mobilizes and responds to the crisis of war.

Pardon

We pray that also help us understand the gospel more including our own forgiveness of sins from you so that we may learn to forgive others
With your people of old, never let us lose sight of your grace, never let us forget the exceeding sinfulness of sin, of the exceeding righteousness of Christ, the exceeding beauty of holiness and the exceeding wonder of grace!!!
Protection
Finally, we pray for your protection. We pray that you lead us not into temptation and that you continually deliver us from the evil and his schemes. Grant us wisdom and discernment and love for you that when the temptations come we may say, “ I love Jesus more!”
