Children Born Into The Family Live By His Spirit

Romans 8:11-12 “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.”

Gal 5:16 “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

Gal 5:25 “If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”

Children Of God Are Led By The Spirit of God

Romans 8:13-14 “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

Life comes after we die to the deeds of the body.

Those led y God are….

John 1:12 “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,”

Romans 8:14 “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

Children Of God Obey

Who knows their father

John 14:15 ““If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

John 14:21 “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.””

John 14:23 “Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

John 15:10 “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.”

John 15:14 “You are my friends if you do what I command you.”

1 John 2:3 “And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.”

1 John 2:5 “but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:”

1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”

How Can We Recognize We Are Being Led By The Spirit?

The Fruit (Personality) Of The Spirit

Gal 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

Love - 2 Cor. 5:14 “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;”

Joy - Matt 25:21, 23 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”

Peace - Col 3:15 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
