Acts 2:42-47

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
…and they devoted themselves to the breaking of bread...
Passover- victory over slavery and oppression.
Christ intentionally transforms Passover to Holy Communion to foreshadow deeper deliverance from spiritual slavery.
Feeds us His own presence and sacrifice. He is the Lamb of God- our High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
Removes not only the guilt but also the power of sin. —partakers of the divine nature 2 Peter 1:4
2 Peter 1:4 ESV
by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
Manna, Bread of Life.
Lords supper—He is the Host.
foreshadows the Marriage Supper of the Lamb
He communes with us in this meal. Mystical body of Christ.
