Psalm 119 :165 Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers, and Saints of God today is the 11th Communion Sunday of 2022. And The Good LORD gave me a good word for His People. So as we glint, gleam, and gaze at this glorious text, I found a great measure of grace and peace. Grace is the word Ka noon (Hannun) means to show favor and feel pity meaning God voluntarily gives us his compassionate favor. And that’s my Grace with God And then there is the theme word Peace the text says in Psalms 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.

Great Peace. Peace in the Hebrew transliteration is the word Shalom. Oh that God would grant me Shalom.Jehovah Shalom The God of Peace, Yeah 3x Peace within my self, Peace in my home, Peace with my wife and Peace my children. I want Peace on my job, Peace in my church, Peace in my Community, Peace in the great State of Louisiana, Peace in our Nation and lastly Peace in our world.

I have read Psalms 119 in its entirety but this particular verse with its small set of circumstances in verse 161-168 while being surrounded by the Longest Psalms in all of the bible. Psalms 119:165 made me pay attention with great detail. And so as we look at the textual context of this topical sermon there is a Peaceful seriousness in the matter.

This term Great Peace is profound, prolific, and prophetic because when you don’t have Great Peace in your life, all hell can break loose at any time. But I’ve just decided that at one month before I’m 63 years old, that I’m not going to have a hateful, hellish, hopeless, hideous lifestyle. Because I’ve got too many people counting on me to do well. Most of all God has commissioned , commanded, and compelled me to always preach and teach above the fray.

And so with that construct in mind Here’s what I found In Isaiah 26: and in Philippians 4:7 that “God will give you a Peace that pass all understanding when you keep your mind stayed on him And I need my Peace and also here’s “What I Need” I need a strength to keep me true and straight and right in everything I do; I need a power to keep me strong when I’m tempted to do something wrong;I need a grace to keep me pure when passion tries its deadly lure; I need a love to keep me sweet when hardness and mistrust I meet; I need an arm to be my stay when dark trouble grows in my day: And naught on earth can these afford, But all is found in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Brothers and sisters If you just keep your mind stayed on Jesus, He’ll give you a peace from a lot of stuff. ( I met a young lady from Dulac that’s way down the bayou almost to the gulf but she worked at at Thibodaux General Hospital and she brought me to my member’s room that I was visiting. And before she left I told her about Psalms 119:165 Great peace where The theme text says Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them. And she began to cry and say thank Mr. Preacher you just don’t know the hell I’m going through on this job and with my husband at home. And said Listen you’re not alone all of us go through trials and tribulations and that;s why God made me get lost in this big old hospital so you could help me and God could send you a word of comfort.

And so Here’s an Illustrative example about acquiring Great Peace: In Exodus 14:13 when Moses and the children of Israel existed out of Egypt and in their mass Exodus they were now down by the Red Sea. And Pharaoh's army was behind them! and God! moved The Great tornado, the bible calls it a Pillar of Cloud by day. Well some theologians say that “God sent Himself in the cloud to block Pharaoh's army from getting to Israel”. God ain’t gon let your enemies get to you.

The Children of Israel were complaining and God told Moses don’t listen to the congregation complaints, Just use what you have in your hand. The Lord said Moses open up your arms wide and tell the Children of Israel this “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord” Long story short The Red Sea opened up and the Children of Israel marched through on dry land. Then God moved the Great Tornado back to in front of the children of Israel, and Pharaoh’s army took off and went behind them into the Red Sea. and The Bible says The Red Sea closed back up again, and Pharaoh’s army drowned in the Red Sea. God will give you great peace and nothing shall offend you.

In Psalm 119:165  Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them. Pharaoh Had oppressed Israel for over 400 years with slavery.Oh but God fixes those that oppress His people. and That’s why the scripture says in Psalms 37 Fret not thyself because of evil doers for they shall soon be cut down and shall wither as the green herb.

Listen 3x don’t get all bent out of shape, no no no ask God for Great Peace. And God’s formula for obtaining Great Peace is achieved when the individual have love for thy law:

WE have to love the law of God’s Word.

I’ll never forgot that. And the proof is that David said in Psalm 119 Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against God. Because 119 :105 says Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path. God makes a lit pathway for the people who Love His word.

“Lord I love your word”. I love God’s word because I love Jesus. I love Jesus because the bible says in John 1:1 In the beginning was the WORD ( the LOGOS) The Logos is Jesus. And the WORD meaning (Jesus ), was with God, and the Word (Jesus ) was God. The same was in the beginning with God (Jesus the LOGOS). All things were made by him, Him Who (Jesus the LOGOS )And without Him was not anything made that was made. And the Great Peace I have from John 1:1 is that “In the Mind of God, God the Father envisioned Creation, He thought about Creation, and He designed Creation in His Mind, Then God the Very Son Jesus the Christ the LOGOS the Spoken Word, spoke creation. The Word spoke it. Jesus the Logos spoke out loud how the world would be formed, How Creation should be, and “then? The Holy Ghost the Hagios Pnumea carried out the Plans of God the Father and God the Son and everything came into existence just like Elohim said.

Elohim 3x The God head Plural meaning Elohim is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost and they equal in every divine perfection and as One God they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the Great work of redemption. I know Baptist doctrine through and through.

Great Peace 3x and this sermon helps me because sometimes you ain’t did nothing but follow orders like God said and trouble show anyhow. I know I’m right about it, because Jesus had just finished ministrying and it was late in the evening and the sun was going down. And Jesus told his disciples to get in the boat and let’s go to the other side of the sea. They follow orders, 3x yeah but in the night season, the sea got rough and wind and the waves got tough and they were lashing and dashing on the ship and the little ship started taking on water.

And meanwhile Jesus is fast a sleep in the hinder part of the ship. Peter awakens Jesus and says Master careth thou not that we perish! In other word “Man don’t you see the storm raging and we’re about to die!” And Jesus woke up stood up and spoke out and said three little words.

In Mark 4:39 PEACE BE STILL.

And everything hushed up! The wind stop because the Jesus, The LOGOS who made the wind said hush up! The waves stop lashing and dashing because the Jesus, The LOGOS who put the wet in water said Hush up and calm down and the bible says that there was a Great Calm on the sea. And the disciples said what manner of man is this that the wind and the sea obey Him. God will give you Great Peace

Psalm 119:165  Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.

As I close here I want to share A quote from an unknown author titled “The Sensible Way”, said Listen Brothers and sisters, There’s nothing so bad that it could not be worse; There’s a little that time may not mend, and troubles, no matter how thickly they come, Most surely they will come to an end. You’ve stumbled and so have we all in our time. Don’t dwell much over regret, the writer says for I can see that you’re sorry for you mess ups, God knows all about it too,so we’ll leave it at that. Okay. Let past things be past, and forget all about it and forgive one another. Be the best highest self that you are capable of and live “The sensible way” and the writer says finally leave the rest to God Because Psalm 119:165 says Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.
