The Significance

A blessing is a wish, expression, or gift for the wellbeing of another.

A father’s blessing is the ultimate expression of his love. Its one thing to say that you love your son or daughter, its another thing to wish something for them. With the blessing, you’re not just telling your son or daughter that you love them, you’re showing it! You’re laying out your hopes and dreams for them!

Example

May the Lord bless you and make your name Great. And you shall be a blessing. May the Lord bless those who bless you and curse him who curses you. May you take possession and prosper and be in health, just as your soul prospers. May the joy of the lord be upon you and his wisdom and understanding adorn you. May you take dominion wherever you walk and his love dominate you wherever you stand. May your enemies be at peace with you and Christ be exalted in you. May the Lord elevate you to the nations as a servant among servants and a leader among leaders. May the Lord’s favor crown you as a son/daughter all the days of your life and may all the generations after you be called blessed because of you.
