Matthew 6:28–30 KJV 1900
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
The conclusion of this section of scripture is don’t worry, for if God takes care of birds and flowers, he will surely take care of you. So don’t worry
you don’t have to worry about your needs, you can focus on pleasing God
if I stopped right there, I’ve said a good word.
but let’s break it down because Jesus broke it down
The flowers are large, often fragrant, and come in a wide range of colors including whites, yellows, oranges, pinks, reds and purples. They are beautiful flowers
and Jesus says that these flowers grow, survive . . . but they don’t work. They don’t spin (making clothes). They don’t even dress themselves
Yet they are dressed.
God takes care of birds, and God takes care of flowers
