Welcome and Invocation
Good afternoon and thank you for being here today to celebrate love. On behalf of the bride and the groom, and their families, thank you for being here for this special occasion. Today we celebrate the Alex and Tanners. Today we celebrate two stories becoming one. The bible tells us that when a man and woman come together they become one. Today we celebrate Tanner and Alex become one. As I look around the room I see friends and family that have come from near and far. Today I know that Tanners brother Travis is here with us and today I know that though we may no see him, I know we can feel the presence of Christ our Lord, lets pray.
Let us Pray….
Charge To Couple
Today is a day that has long been dreamed about, planned, and prayed for. Long before you either of you were a thought in anyone’s minds, God knew you…created you, loved you, and planned for this moment. I know today holds an extra special place in your hearts knowing that you two for the first time ever met on this day. Now today you both look incredible, you smell great, and there is a magical disney-esk feeling in the air…but you know that marriage is not about merely moments or feelings. It is about commitment and sacrifice. And the best marriages are founded on a foundation that is not dependent on ourselves nor on temporary things that will fail.
Today my prayer is that your marriage is founded on a love that is found in a relationship with Christ. Jesus told a parable in the Gospel of Matthew about a wise and foolish builder......
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. –Colossians 3:12-14
Sharing of the Vows
Do you Tanner take Alex,
Whom you hold by the hand to be your Wedded wife ?
Do you promise before God & these witnesses
To love, honor, comfort and cherish her,
And to remain faithful only to her,
As long as you both shall live ?
Do you Alex take Tanner,
Whom you hold by the hand to be your Wedded husband?
Do you promise before God & these witnesses
To love, honor, comfort and cherish him,
And to remain faithful only to him,
As long as you both shall live ?
Repeat after me: Tanner
I Tanner take you Alex to be
My wedded wife,
To have and to hold from this day forward;
For better and for worse,
For richer and for poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
Till death do us part,
I promise you my love
Repeat after me: Alex
I Alex take you Tanner to be
My wedded husband,
To have and to hold from this day forward;
For better and for worse,
For richer and for poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish,
Till death do us part,
I promise you my love.
Giving of The Rings
The wedding ring is an unbroken symbol of the everlasting love and commitment between man and wife. Repeat after me: With this ring, I thee wed.
(Tanner) With this ring, I thee wed. (Groom places ring on bride’s finger)
(Alex) With this ring, I thee wed.
Have Them Look at Crowd
Prayer of Blessing
Pronouncement and The Kiss
Now that Tanner and Alex have given themselves to each other by vows of love and commitment, with the joining of hands and the giving and receiving of rings, I now pronounce them husband and wife. What God has joined together, let no one separate. Tanner you may kiss your bride.
