I.What member are you!

How many members are their in the body of Christ?
Foot - give you foundation, balance, holds the whole body up. cause you to trip and fall.
hand - workers , reach out and help others, comforts, use your hands to fix things
eye - see, guidance, learn a lot about someone by their eyes
ear- listen, hear, warning to things not seen yet.
nose - smell, gives clues to your surroundings, foods, deserts, or skunks
1 Corinthians 12:18-20 “But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.”
God created each part of our body unique, with different function, but a per paired for the greater good.
If you are part of the body have you found your function.
We are to be the hands and feet of Christ - His workmanship for His Good works
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
We need
hands and feet
eyes and ears
We don't need appendix -
its just there
not sure what its purpose is
cause a belly
cut out you don’t miss it .

II. All Members are equally important to the Body

1 Corinthians 12:21-25
Don’t create division in the body
Don’t think more highly of your self
Romans 12:3 “For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.”
Philippians 2:1-5 “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,”
1 Corinthians 10:24 “Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.”
all are necessary -
1 Corinthians 12:22 “On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,”
indispensable = anankaios = Necessary
1 Corinthians 12:23-25 “and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require
2. God design is for unity!
But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.”

III.Many Members, One Body, One set of Feelings

1 Corinthians 12:26 “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.”
See the picture of unity here
Romans 12:15-18 “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”

IV. are you a member of the body of christ

As full as it looks their is a place for you!
1 Timothy 2:3-4 “This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Only one way to join the Body.
John 14:1-6 ““Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Jesus is head of the Body
Colossians 1:15-18 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.”
1 Corinthians 12:13 “For in one Sprite we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.”
