IF YOU WAKE UP WITH 2020 VISION I BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE A SUPERPOWER

You should be an avenger. Just wake up able to see.

I wear contacts. I've thoughts about lasik purely because I want to be able to just open my eyes and see.

The reason I can't see clearly is a problem with my eyes. Not yours. It's not my parents fault. Im actually the only person in my family that needs glasses. It's a problem with my eyes.

Can you imagine though if I was so upset about not seeing clearly but refused to put my contacts in. Your pastor is running red lights getting pulled over. Well officer I thought it was green. Maybe yellow. We all speed up at yellow. But it's not my fault I couldn't see because my contacts are at home and I didn't want to put them in.

The better option would be to just simply put the contacts in.

IN THE SAME WAY SO MANY PEOPLE LIVE THEIR LIVES WITHOUT CLEAR VISION EVEN THOUGH THE WAY TO CLEAR VISION IS SIMPLE

BIBLICAL VISION IS WHAT YOU SEE WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED.

Vision is where I see my life could be. It's the difference I see that I could make. It's me seeing my kids growing up honoring the Lord. It's when I close my eyes and see my marriage growing closer to God and closer together. It's seeing more people in heaven because of my life. It's seeing my life make a impact for the Kingdom of God in a world that says your impact is determined by your follower count how many times you virtue signal.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV 1900) — 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish

When we cannot see a vision for our lives we are the walking dead. Because we are living and existing without a reason or purpose. We live a dead life. And in the same way a church without vision becomes a dead church. Existing for nothing more than a lifeless existence. You can have sunday school, a women's ministry, bring in ever celebrity pastor and worship leader you can find, have a big building with slides in your kids ministry, a coffee bar with every latte you can think of and still be a dead church full of lifeless people because vision cannot be bought.

Let me tell you what a dead church looks like:

Fall into a Sunday morning routine

Comfortable to be in

Never challenges my life to change

Struggles with never having enough finances to do ministry

Shifts their focus to who's in the room not who's not in the room

Never talks about anything that would ruffle any feathers

Stays out of talking about real issues because we don't want anyone to leave

Stops seeing life change, stops taking ground for the kingdom

AND NEW PURPOSE AS LONG AS IM THE PASTOR OF THIS CHURCH I WILL NEVER SETTLE FOR US BEING A DEAD CHURCH. We are here to plunder hell and fill heaven. To see God's kingdom advance. To call believers out of apathy and see the lost be found because of our efforts.

A dead church is one of the enemies greatest achievements. Because a dead church leads believers to settle for a visionless life, fall into apathy, never reach their friends and families, never trust God with their finances to build the church, and basically sit around and do nothing waiting to get to heaven.

IF THE DEVIL CAN'T STOP THE CHURCH FROM STARTING AND BELIEVE ME... HE TRIED.... THEN HE WILL SETTLE WITH CAUSING IT TO BE A DEAD ONE.

Try to fill it full of dead people with no vision

Try to get the pastor and leaders to settle with just doing church

Try to bring people into the church that will just stir up division and believe me.... HE TRIED. One day you'll hear the stories but today is not that day.

And we have enough churches full of that but New Purpose we are called to be different.

CHURCH TIME IS SHORT AND WE HAVE TOO MUCH TO DO. AND THE ENEMY HAS NO PLACE IN THIS CHURCH OR IN YOUR LIFE AND SO CHURCH LET'S CATCH A VISION OF WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO

Vision is what I see with my eyes closed. That's Biblical vision.

We have to see the vision for our lives that God has laid out for our lives.

WE ALL HAVE A VISION FOR OUR LIVES. But is it the right one?

You have dreams. Aspirations.

What you want your bank account to look like

What job you want

How many kids

the spouse you are looking for

maybe the body you want physically

Where you want to live

the house you want to grow old in

Retirement one day and what that will look like

ULTIMATELY YOUR BANK ACCOUNT, JOB, YOUR MARRIAGE, WHERE YOU LIVE, YOUR DREAM HOUSE and RETIREMENT WILL BE LIFELESS IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THE WILL OF GOD AND NOT VALUING AND PURSUING WHAT HE WANTS FOR YOUR LIFE.

WE HAVE TO CATCH GOD'S VISION FOR OUR LIFE BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY AS A CHURCH

WHEN YOU FOLLOW A GOD GIVEN VISION IT WONT MAKE SENSE HUMALY SPEAKING.

It will go against instinct. It will go against rational thinking. Because humanly speaking when God calls you and gives you vision for your life its something that can only be accomplished by and through Him.

JONATHAN decides to sneak into enemy territory to infiltrate the ground the enemy had taken and fight. And CHURCH THAT IS US. We are here to take back the land the enemy has taken. We are here to take back the minds of our children. To break the addiction the enemy has sown. To restore back marriages that the enemy has stolen. We are here to turn middle tennessee back to the lord.

JONATHAN FEELS COMPELLED TO DO SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. Two people leading a surprise attack against an enemy thats 600 strong. This defies logic, it defies reason. But I want you to see what he says

1 Samuel 14:6 (NIV) — 6 Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised men. Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few.”

I remember when we started telling people in late 2019 early 2020 that we were moving here to start New Purpose. I was pumped to let people know. I couldn't wait!

And yall my wife. She warned me. And like a typical husband... i didn't listen. She said don't share your dreams too quickly. People are not going to be as excited as you and it's gonna discourage you. And i was like "pshhhh who wouldn't be excited! And oh boy was I wrong. We called friends. Family members. And I would have a big smile. Pumped to tell them the dream that God had put in my heart. And sure enough. Wouldn't you know it. My wife was right. Cause this is the response we would get.

Huh.... Oh okay.... Cool....

And here's what I learned one. Men. LISTEN TO YOUR WIVES.

Two when your dreams are bigger than other peoples they will get offended. How dare you dream that big. How dare you have a big vision for your life. And they then see it as their job to bring your dreams down to their level. But we are not living for mans approval but for God's. Because a God dream cannot be accomplished by man but only by God.

But that's the way God works. Because if your vision for your life can be accomplished by your efforts alone than your vision is too small and is of your own making. And if your life ultimately is just full of what you can do and not evidence of what God can do then it's time to make a change.

CHURCH, we are not okay with the fact that are lost people in middle tennessee. We are not okay that there are believers that never see God move in their lives. We are not okay that there are people in Middle Tennessee who believe there's not a church that will welcome them in. We are not okay with the enemy having a hold on the minds of our young people, your children and your grandchildren. We are not okay with churches full of believers with no vision for their life. We are here to make a difference.

But it has to be God's way. His vision. Not ours. And it's gonna feel like Gideon felt.

When you decide to take hold of God's vision for your life it's going to feel uncomfortable but we are called to be uncomfortable for God.

SO HOW DO YOU GET GOD'S VISION FOR YOUR LIFE?.... YOU ASK

Get in God's word

Value what God values

Make church a priority

and ask God for vision

WHAT WILL GOD'S VISION LOOK LIKE?

It will be uncomfortable.

It will ask you to do things you don't want to do

Change things about your life you don't want to change

Value things you see as not valuable

Give up things you don't want to give up

Trust God with things you want to handle on your own

Change your priorities

AND WE HAVE SEEN WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO DO THIS. WE HAVE SEEN PEOPLE DECIDE TO CATCH GOD'S VISION FOR THEIR LIFE AND ACT ON IT AND SO TODAY WE WANTED TO SHOW YOU ONE OF THOSE STORIES.

WHEN YOU DECIDE TO JUST ACT ON WHAT GOD PUTS IN FRONT OF YOU. THE VISION HE GIVES YOU. IT LEADS YOU INTO HIS PRESENCE AND INTO HIS WILL. AND IT’S UNLIKE ANYTHING ELSE.
