Do you T-R-U-S-T GOD?

This season we have talked about what is, how to, and why we worship, what Faith is and how to have an effective prayer life – but all of this is meaningless unless you actually TRUST God.
Why can we trust God –
Last week we discussed that we could trust God because God was, is and always will be the only source of truth.
I believe you can trust God because God is Reliable – and there are 100’s of Scriptures that talk about the reliability, dependability and faithfulness of God.
God is –
Truth
Reliable
And today To finish up the TRUST acronym we will talk about how God is
Unchanging
Sovereign &
Transcendent
Do you trust Him? Is He truth and the only source of truth?
How does having a thankful heart for God play into TRUSTING Him?
There are hundreds of Scriptures that talks about the Faithfulness and Dependability on God, how do you experience that in your life?
As we prepare our hearts to God’s message for us today – let us pray!
Proverbs 3:5“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
III. U-nchanging
Deuteronomy 7:9 – Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,
Hebrews 6:17 – So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath,
v18 – So that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Malachi 3:6 – “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.
Numbers 23:19 – God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Isaiah 40:8 – The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
Matthew 24:35 – Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
2 Timothy 2:13 – If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
IV. S-overeign – Sovereignty is defined as supreme power and authority, Merriam-Webster adds “free from outside control.”
“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him …” (Ps. 37:5).
A. Our Will instead of His Many Christians fail to commit themselves totally to God because they want their way, their will instead of His.
B. We trust because of His Sovereignty We must submit our will to God’s will so we can trust Him uninhibited because of His Sovereignty
Matthew 6:10 – Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Isaiah 26:3-4 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
Job 42:2 – “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
Psalm 135:6 – Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.
Isaiah 46:10 – Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
V. T-ranscendant – God’s ways are not our ways
Isaiah 55:8-9 – For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Job 11:6-7 – And that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves. “Can you find out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limit of the Almighty?
Job 26:7 – He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.
Matthew 19:26 – But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Isaiah 40:28 – Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
Psalm 1147:5 – Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
Job 42:2 – “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
Jeremiah 23:24 – Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 32:27 – “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
Isaiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Why can we trust the Lord?
“The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.” (Ps. 37:40).
This season we have talked about what is, how to, and why we worship, what Faith is and how to have an effective prayer life – but all of this is meaningless unless you actually TRUST God. I believe you can because God is
Truth
Reliable
Unchanging – the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,
Sovereign – I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
And God is
Transcendent – For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Do you trust Him? Is He truth and the only source of truth?
There are hundreds of Scripture that talks about the Faithfulness and Dependability on God, how do you experience that in your life?
