Col 4:7 All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord:
Col 4:8 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;
Col 4:9 With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here.
Col 4:10 Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;)
Col 4:11 And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
Col 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
Col 4:13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
Col 4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.
Col 4:15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
Col 4:16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
Col 4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
Col 4:18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.
This final portion of scripture is important
Relationships are vitally important in the Christian life

Now we see the importance of relationships with the People in the church
Active servants using their gifts
Using talents

treasure
What God gave us did we invest it in His Kingdom

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
God is sovereign and He brought you here
As it has pleased Him
If God put me here I should be active here
It pleases Him for you to be here

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
God said the feeble are necessary
Who are we to say someone is not necessary
Enduring faithfulness is vitally important
God could use us to touch the world as we are connected and serving in the church
Well I don’t want to be hurt - there will be difficulty in every relationship

We minister to one another to help each other reach our potential in ministry so we may reach the world

Stop operating independant from the body of Christ

Onesimus was Philemon’s slave
He ran from servitude and met the Apostle Paul

Onesimus became useful after coming to Christ
He didn’t drain Paul
He didn’t subtract from Paul’s energy
Do you add to your family
Do you help your family
Do you add to your church family
Are you someone that adds

These men had gifts but what is commended is their character

You can have gifts but without character your
God wants you to be more than He wants you to do
Being is vastly more important to doing for without being who you cannot do
Late, irritable, unstable
Imoral, A lack of character
Lacking character
Minister = deacon
Dependable
Will you follow, will you obey
Lacking character will make you undependable

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Lacking character and faithfulness can make you unusable
Fellow Servant - Bond slave
Whatever needs to be done let’s do it

When the apostle Paul saw Tychicus he smiled and it was an enjoyable time
You know what it’s like when see someone and it’s like oh no...
In The Lord
Abiding relationship - fruitful joy
You know they have been with the Lord
In the Lord - obvious presence of God in their life
More than salvation
Warm caring
Trustworthy, joyful
Onesimus and Tychicus were sent on a mission from Paul

Exhorts
Fans the flames
Are you the type that touch others by your kindness
Who are we to talk about the negative’s of others
Who are we to think we are greater than others in the body of Christ

Aristarchus was in the prison with the Apostle
Someone who was with the apostle in the darknesss
encouraging
Mark went with Barnabas and was separated for a time
Received Him
We are reconciled
You need to reconcile with people

Get back to what God called you to do
Let’s never try to figure out reasons to get out of serving
