Exodus 3:14–15 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

I. Thy Shield

Genesis 15:1 1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Ephesians 6:16 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
A shield in those days was made of leather and soaked with water to extinguish the arrows of the enemy.
II. The Lord
Genesis 15:7 7 And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. This phrase is found 164 times in 162 verses from Genesis 15:7- Malachi 3:6
Webster's 1828 Dictionary renders the word LORD as A master; a person possessing supreme power and authority; a ruler; a governor.

III. The Almighty God

Genesis 17:1 1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Genesis 46:3 3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
He said I am God not a god but the one and only GOD

IV. With Thee

Genesis 28:15 15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

A. Every Where

Hebrews 13:5 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

B. When Everyone Else Forsakes You

Proverbs 27:10 10 Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; Neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: For better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
Proverbs 18:24 24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
