The Days of Noah Several times God’s Word refers to the Days of Noah in a prophecy sense. Cf. Gen 6; Matt. 24:36-39; Luke 17:26,27; 1 Pet 3:19,20; 2 Pet 2:5,6, 7 The Olivet Discourse Matt. 24,25; Mark 13; Luke 21,22 Matthew 24:36–39 (MEV) 36 “Concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Luke 17:26–27 (MEV) 26 “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 They were eating, drinking, marrying, and were given in marriage until the day when Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. 5 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was continually only evil. 6 The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, “I will Sons of God = Bene HaElohim These are direct creations of God. Always angels in the O.T. and LXX. Notice 1 sentence. “took them” the women had no choice. 3 Nephilim – Offspring could be giants, but didn’t have to be. The most important part is Hybrid. Angels and human woman creating mighty men. They were before the flood and after. 1 2 The Days of Noah - A Rock Solid Bible Study, 11/16/2022 Page 2 of 6 destroy man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—both man and beast, and the creeping things, and the birds of the sky, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. So if God’s Word tells us several times that the last days are going to be like the Days of Noah, shouldn’t we pay attention to that statement and dig deeper into the passages for greater understanding? About 1,600 years from Adam & Eve until Noah. The population of the Earth had exploded (~750 million??), but so had evil. Genesis 6:5 (MEV) 5 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was continually only evil. Luke 17:26 – just as it was in the Days of Noah … Evil is a word that well describes what we are told. Does that word match what we are seeing today? Danger comes hand in hand with open evil activity. You also had all the adultery and other sexual immorality going on. GRACE: We are going to look more into what was going on, but let’s make a statement of God’s awesome GRACE right here. Noah took about 120 years to build the Ark. Apparently during all that time, he preached to the people of the judgment that was coming. The Days of Noah - A Rock Solid Bible Study, 11/16/2022 Page 3 of 6 Hebrews 11:7 (MEV) 7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to save his family, by which he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. I believe when most people hear about the Days of Noah, they think about the lawlessness, crime, sexual immorality, etc. All of which is certainly true and all of which is prevalent in our world today for comparison. However, I think if we stop there, we are missing a very important aspect of what God’s Word is trying to warn us about. Let’s go beyond just the earthly realm and consider the spiritual condition. EVIL, Demonic, Wicked, Diabolic, Sinful, Immoral, Vile, – are some of the other words that should come to mind when we consider the days of Noah. So over-all bad was it, that God saved only 8 people out of the total population (~750 million). And the Nephilim were there – apparently out in the open. Note: They were on the Earth before the flood and after the flood!! Cf. Genesis 6:4 and Jude 6,7; 1 Peter 3:19,20; 2 Peter 2:4,5 Daniel 2:43 (MEV) 43 Whereas you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men, but they shall not cleave to one another, even as iron does not mix with clay. Cf. Matthew 12:44-45 This is just a small snippet of why I think anyone who knows the Word should be expecting lawlessness (in all its criminal and dangerous forms), to be growing exponentially along with outright and open demonic power being manifested openly instead of just behind the scenes and in the shadows. The Days of Noah - A Rock Solid Bible Study, 11/16/2022 Page 4 of 6 So let’s all run around scared, screaming, and crying!!!! What??? NO WAY!!!!!!! We are children of the King. We are redeemed, blood bought, Kingdom citizens, with our names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and Heaven bound!!! 1 John 4:4 (MEV) 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Romans 8:31 (MEV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 2 Corinthians 5:7 (MEV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV) 19 So shall they fear The name of the LORD from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. Psalm 60:4 (NKJV) 4 You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah Song of Solomon 2:4 (NKJV) 4 He brought me to the banqueting house, And his banner over me was love. The Days of Noah - A Rock Solid Bible Study, 11/16/2022 Page 5 of 6 I believe we are headed for the absolute worse and BEST days ahead of us as disciples of Jesus Christ!!! As the darkness grows, we must lift our lights higher and let them shine brighter. What the enemy is doing is setting the stage for revival and miracles like none of us have ever seen. These last days will be exceedingly difficult, but as we keep the faith, they will also be full of God’s glory and great victories due to HIS power! We MUST walk by faith and not by sight, individually. Plus lock shields together and support each other as much as we can. The Days of Noah - A Rock Solid Bible Study, 11/16/2022 Page 6 of 6
