Jonah 3:1-10, The World's Greatest Revival.

A whole city turned to God. The greatest revival was before the church and after the church during the tribulation period. Revelation 7:13-14: And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Jonah obeyed this time and went to Nineveh. Jonah repented and went to Nineveh.

There is a countdown on America and the whole world.

Jonah 3:3-5: Jonah proclaimed the Word. Jonah had a message. Jonah had a personal message. He received the Word of God. God’s Word does not return void.

We have the message. Each believer has a message today. Romans 4:24-25: But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. I Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Forty is a number of testing. Jonah warned Nineveh that they had 40 days. He had Word from the Lord. Jonah 3:4: And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Jonah 3:5-7: The people of Nineveh believed God. Jonah proclaimed judgment. They repented.

Repentance is a word of action. Repentance is something you do. We turn from our sins, trusting God. These people believed God and turned from their evil ways. When repentance comes, there will be change. When you come to Christ, you come as you are, but you leave differently. They back up their belief with action. They put on sackcloth.

Sackcloth and ashes means rejection of this world. Jonah 3:5-6: So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

Jonah 3:8-10: The prayers of the people. They turned from their evil way. Second Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

God relented from the disaster that He had said that He would bring upon him, and He did not do it. We need to always humble ourselves and confess our sins to God. Revival comes by change.

Ephesians 2:8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
