Pray without Ceasing
Pray without Ceasing
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (CSB)
Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Rejoice Always +Pray Continually + Give Thanks = God’s Will for you in Christ Jesus.
Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, so that I may make it known as I should. Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.
Psalm 19:14 (CSB)
May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
Prayer in your home becomes the covering and open door of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer in your home becomes the covering and open door of the Holy Spirit.
Principle of Prayer: Prayer is not just a formal conversation with God. It is your participation with the life of God all around you and flowing through you.
What does that mean?
It’s what Paul is saying to the Thessalonians…PRAY WITHOUT CEASING...
In other words, the goal of following Jesus is to be ever connected to the voice and work of the Holy Spirit around us.
Not just at church!
Not just in morning devotions!
When we “pray without ceasing” we create a prayer covering over our home.
Prayer Covering
Prayer Covering
Doesn’t keep us from trial or hardship…it ensures that the will and purposes of God are being done in our lives.
You or your family may be facing a crisis, but prayer turns the DESTRUCTIVE work of the enemy into the REDEMPTIVE work of the Spirit.

By Speaking the Language of Prayer in your Home Daily
By Recognizing Spiritual Warfare within your Home
Spiritual warfare is one of those things we probably don’t address enough in the church.
Except from Mansions of the Heart: “The enemy’s attack increases during prayer. Disguised as our own thoughts, the enemy sends many memories of past sins, shameful thoughts, and messages of condemnation, designed to make us feel unworthy to seek God or ask His help…If the enemy can frustrate or stop our prayers, spiritual growth can be stopped as well.”
We, our children, become bitter, angry, and resentful. We start to turn our frustration, resentment, and disappointment on each other.
Prayer of Agreement
Prayer of Agreement
I am asking that everyone join together at the altar tonight and take a cloth as a point of representation.
Whatever breakthrough you are needing in your home we are going to pray together.
could be as simple as a deeper presence of God in your home
could be financial
could be in your marriage or children
could be a particularly trying season
Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
