I. Convinced of Salvation vs. 9

A. The writer was convinced that they were saved. We often judge people who are lazy as lost, but there are factors that we don’t think about. (Upbringing, stunted growth, hurt etc./ Charles Stanley ex).
B. Look deeper at the fruit. Is there any good/untainted fruit.

II. Yahweh Rewards You vs. 10

A. There are times when we think that God has forgotten all that we have done in His service and that He abandoned us in a time of trouble. Nehemiah 13:14
Nehemiah 13:14 NASB95
Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out my loyal deeds which I have performed for the house of my God and its services.
B. By no means! God is always working, even if we do not see it, or know what He is doing. “One day you’re gonna see why God made you wait. You’re waiting on that open door from Him. Until it opens PRAISE HIM IN THE HALLWAY! Isa. 60:22
Isaiah 60:22 NLT
The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

III. Live Surrendered vs. 11-12

A. Be diligent not to lose hope, but keep pressing on in the Lord. Gal. 6:9
Galatians 6:9 NASB95
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
B. Don’t be lazy, persevere through faith and patience.
C. The reward is worth the hard work, heartache, and persecution. II Cor. 4:17-18
2 Corinthians 4:17–18 NASB95
For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
