1st. To Know God by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour

John 14:5–7 (NKJV)

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

John 2:19 NKJV

Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

a. Without Jesus Christ we are sprituality blind and cannot see or know God

Colossians 1:15–16 (NKJV)

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

b. We cannot see or experience the Glory of God without Jesus Christ

2 Corinthians 4:6 (NKJV)

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Colossians 2:9 NKJV

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

c. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only means of liberation from the dark forces of this world

2 Corinthians 4:3–4 (NKJV)

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Romans 1:16–17 (NKJV)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

2nd. To Know the truth in Gods word in order to be free

John 8:31–36 (NKJV)

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?”

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

a. The real and lasting transformation begins from the study of God's word

Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

b. As born again believer you should know that you are no longer in bondage

Colossians 1:13 (NKJV)

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

John 5:24 (NKJV)

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

c. The study of the work of God calls for intentional and diligent efforts

James 1:22–25 (NKJV)

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

3rd. To Know your reason for existence

John 13:31–35 (NIV)

When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him.

If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.

“My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

a. The desire to Know God and love people is the force that unlocks purpose in our lives

b. After learning to love God (worship), learning to love others is the next foundational purpose of your life.

The best use of Life is Love

1 Corinthians 13:3 (NKJV)

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love should be your top priority, primary objective, and greatest ambition. Love is not a good part of your life; it’s the most important part. The Bible says, “Let love be your greatest aim.” 5 It’s not enough to say, “One of the things I want in life is to be loving,” as if it’s on your top ten list. Relationships must have priority in your life above everything else. Why? Life without love is really worthless. Paul makes this point: “No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.” (MSG)

4th. To Know how to help others to know God

Matthew 28:18–20 (NKJV)

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

a. God wants you to have both a ministry in the Body of Christ and a mission in the world.

John 17:18 (NKJV)

As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

God is at work in the world, and he wants you to join him. This assignment is called your mission. God wants you to have both a ministry in the Body of Christ and a mission in the world. Your ministry is your service to

b. The mission Jesus had while on earth is now our mission because we are the Body of Christ.

What he did in his physical body we are to continue as his spiritual body, the church. What is that mission? Introducing people to God! The Bible says, “Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also.”

2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV)

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

John 13:5 NIV

After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
