At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Goat joke
There is always something to be done
God knows how to rest, because He invented it

Festivals
“You shall keep the Feast of Booths seven days, when you have gathered in the produce from your threshing floor and your winepress. You shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your towns. For seven days you shall keep the feast to the Lord your God at the place that the Lord will choose, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.

Matthew 11:25-30 “At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.””
Jesus talks about salvation being revealed by Him to little children in the same breath rest for our souls
The wise and understanding don’t need God, they have it all worked out on their own
Little children know they need their Father
We labor trying to save ourselves, “I’m basically a good person”
We are heavy laden because we grieve knowing we are not capable
Jesus, the Son, chooses to reveal the Father to those who will come
Are you tired of failing again and again? Come.
Are you weary from thinking you have to do it all? Come.
Are you heavy laden thinking and worrying about your children? Come.
In Jesus we find rest for our souls
Experiencing God
Experiencing God
The more we are present with God the more His peace and rest can take hold in our lives
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
God isn’t a god simply to know about
He revealed Himself to us as Father
Father is a relationship
Father goes further then knowing about someone
You know their heart
You know what brings them joy
You know their love
You know they will always be there for you
Your Father knows you
Your Father cares for you
Your Father loves you
The more we will lay down our labor and seek God the more we will know Him
The more we know Him the more we desire Him
The more we desire Him the more we experience Him
