INTRO: Does Satan know who you are in the spirit.
I’m not asking if Satan knows your name, I’m asking whether the powers of darkness can recognize the spirit of the living God in you.
Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”
14 Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.
And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
In these last and evil days, the bible warns us that some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.
It goes on later and says perilous times will come.
It sounds to me like we need the anointing.
As children of the Most High, we have a gift from God the Father by way of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Jeremiah said it was like fire shut up in his bones.
The anointing imparts supernatural energy and amplifies our human effort (Matthew 15:32).
When you come in the anointing no demon can stand before you the powers of darkness are rendered powerless.
When you come in the anointing yokes are broken, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
Isa 10:27
This anointing a realm, a dimension that frustrates, and mesmerizes the powers of darkness.
Jesus carried it and stood for 72 hours on His feet preaching (Matthew 15:32).
Kathryn Kuhlman carried the anointing and worked beyond 18 hours daily.
The anointing revives, restores, heals, and delivers, through it every sickness, illness and disease is removed.
Walking in the anointing, brings discernment, wisdom, and knowledge.
Teaching in the anointing preaching in the anointing brings deliverance to the oppressed.
SCRIP: Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths.
32 And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.
33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon.
And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone!
What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth?
Did You come to destroy us?
I know who You are the Holy One of God!”
But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.
Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is!
For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.”
37 And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.
Luke 4:31-37
PRAY
Moses was anointed at the flames of the burning bush where the aimless rod in his hand became the rod of power.
It is the anointing that brings men out of obscurity, out of where the devil kept them, out of where satanic limitations kept them, to limelight.
Before Saul became king of Israel, he was roaming up and down the mountains of Israel looking for what he thought he was missing.
He wandered up and down until he encountered the Prophet Samuel, the man with the Oil, and by his encounter with that anointing, his wandering ended.
It is the anointing that turns a wanderer into a wonder (1 Samuel 10:1-10).
No king reigned until he was anointed, that shows that without the anointing you are not empowered to become what you are created to be!
The anointing is God’s mark of distinction that separates you, your family, your household, your life, your finances, your physical well-being, your emotional health…from everyone else.
You are a child of the King, set apart.
Everything that sets you apart from the things of this world comes via the anointing.
Whatever has been delaying your destiny from manifesting, the anointing is taking them away today in Jesus’ name!
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
As followers of Christ, we are not to be conformed to this world’s pattern.
Romans 12:1-2
Don’t Conform The Christian and the world are not to be “like-shaped.”
That is, we should not allow ourselves to be pressed into following the corrupt customs, ungodly principles, or evil plans of action promoted by worldly men.
The blessed man, according to Psalm 1:1, resists being conformed to the pattern of the world:
“Blessed is the one, who does not walk in step with the wicked, or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.”
So, here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.
Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.
Instead, fix your attention on God.
You’ll be changed from the inside out.
Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.
Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
What the Anointing Does And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.
Luke 4:32
Jesus spoke like no other, Jesus taught like no other, with authority.
His authority came from the Father, His words were spirit and life he came to expose the devil and destroy his works.
Jesus came speaking not for himself, but according to the father.
Jesus spoke what was commanded of the Father, likewise we who believe, that have received Jesus Christ as Lord and savior we have the same authority, as we speak not of ourselves, but we speak in the name of Jesus, his name his power, his authority is granted to us to destroy the works of the devil, and so that we can have life more abundantly in Christ Jesus!
Demons Exposed Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon.
And he cried out with a loud voice, Luke 4:33
The anointing is a yoke-breaking power!
Isa.
10: 27 – “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
A yoke is an instrument of stagnation and disturbance.
The enemy puts yokes on people to keep them enslaved.
Even in the church there are people that are bound and shackled.
Their chains may be invisible to the naked eye, nevertheless bound they are.
Bound by chains of addition, pornography, alcohol, and drugs.
Bound by fear.
But I come in the anointing of the Highest, to declare this day of deliverance.
“Believers are indwelled by the Holy Spirit and thus cannot be possessed by demons, but believers can come under demonic attack
Destroy the works of the Devil saying, “Let usalone!
What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth?
Did You come to destroy us?
Luke 4:34a
The works of the devil affect humanity morally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.
Morally, the devil entices people to sin, making evil seem appealing so that people choose evil over obedience to God (James 1:14).
Physically, the devil can inflict disease, and he seeks to use physical trials to cause people to curse God (Job 2:4–5; Luke 13:11).
Intellectually, the devil seduces people into error, teaching false doctrines (1 Timothy 4:1).
He casts doubt and keeps unbelievers intellectually blinded to spiritual truth and the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:3–4).
He arranges distractions and promotes confusion that cause people to act hastily, irrationally, and foolishly.
Spiritually, he takes every opportunity to snatch away the Word of God sown in a person’s heart (Matthew 13:19).
Before we were saved, we were under the full effects of the works of the devil.
In fact, we “were dead in our transgressions and sins, in which we used to live when we followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient” (Ephesians 2:1–2).
The works of the devil in our lives caused us to be “gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts” (verse 3).
It is only through the love, mercy, and grace of God that we were rescued from the works of the devil (verses 4–5).
The devil desires to attack believers, too (Luke 22:31–32).
He will try to cause believers to not follow Christ to keep you from your primary purpose of bringing glory to God and furthering His purposes and plans.
If Satan can cause our love for Christ to cool (Revelation 2:4) or cause us to stop loving each other (John 13:34–35), then we lose our testimony before the world and displease our heavenly Father.
If Satan can entice us into addictions such as entertainment, sex, or porn, then he entraps us in bondage to sin so that we cannot commune with God.
I know who You are the Holy One of God! Luke 4:34b The enemy of God, this demon knew who Jesus was, when he encountered this teacher, prophet this son of God, He knew immediately understood I’m in trouble.
Jesus, I know Paul I know, but who are you.
