Opening:
Well good morning everyone,
In just a few short day we will be celebrating Thanksgiving.
As pastor Terry mentioned a few weeks ago, I enjoy cooking.
I probably like eating more than cooking, but do enjoy cooking food and watching others enjoy that food.
I just recently learned how to make dressing.
I grew up eating the best dressing in the world.
My grandmother’s dressing was one of the things that I always looked forward to at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We had an early Thanksgiving meal with some friends and I realized no one was bringing dressing so I decided it was time to learn how to make dressing.
It wasn’t Mamaw Fanny’s dressing but it wasn’t too shabby either.
This is the time of year where we are challenged to be thankful.
To recognize areas in our life to be thankful for.
But have you ever had a tough time being thankful?
Have you ever been in one of those places where it was nearly impossible to identify one thing in your life you had to be thankful for?
I have!
Today we are going to look at a human condition that has a great deal to do with our inability to be thankful and even more than that, see this human condition is attached to many of the sin issues we struggle with as well.
