Which is more important, what you say or what you do?
I’m sure most of us would say what you do is more important,
But do we actually live that way?
Do we say that we have faith, but act as if we don’t?
And I don’t mean we come to church all “Praise the Lord”,
Then go home and act like heathens.
I mean do we live like we have faith?
And if we’re talking faith and works, we’ve got to look at the book of James, chapter 2
Faith Without Works
Faith Without Works
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
Wait a second, what about all of the times Jesus told someone their faith had made them well?
That would seem to be a profit, doesn’t it?
If you look though, each of these people’s faith led them to do something.
From asking Jesus for help, to doing the unthinkable.
Reaching out a touching him in a crowd.
Calling out on a crowded street.
Even washing Jesus’ feet with their tears.
If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
