A Prepared People For a Prepared Place
Everything we do in life requires some form of preparation.
Websters def - Is to make ready, to arrange .
Examples of prepartions:
1.When men & women are in engage -they prepare for a wedding
2.When the holiday season come-We prepare for the holidays
3.If a love one is coming to visit - We prepare for their arrival
4.If a child is taking a test - They prepare for it by studying.
5.Noah prepared for the flood
6.Abraham prepared a altar
7.John the baptist prepared the way for Jesus
-The worse feeling in the world , is for an unexpected event to occur that you were not prepared for .
-Poor prepartion produces poor planning & performance
In the text Peter is reminding us , don’t forget what the fathers have taught us. Don’t forget the promise that Jesus made to us. The promise of his return. He reminds us that the day of the Lord is still coming . In fact it is coming like a theif in the night. It is going to sneak up on many people. People who knew it would happen. But they did not properly prepare.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Mt 24:43
