Internal Proof
Internal Proof
Within all people is the ability to know God, Romans 1:18-23
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools,
and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
That which is known about God is within us. God put within every person the ability to know Him. This is a testimony to the love of God. He desires for all to know Him and worship Him. This is the greatest blessing we have. That is to know God!
Though God put the ability to know him within all people, some choose to suppress the truth and deny that there is a God. In there foolishness they deny that God exists. Psalms 10:3-4
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire,
And the greedy man curses and spurns the Lord.
The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him.
All his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
The person that denies God seeks after that which his heart desires. He tries to find soul gratification in the things of the world. Paul says they exchange the glory of God for the image of man and the created things. This is foolishness because the things of this world are temporary and are not nearly as glorious as God. God is everlasting and his glory is something to to worship. John Piper says, “ God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.”
For the one who trusts in God their awareness of God becomes stronger. Romans 8:15
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”
We come to know God as a heavenly Father.
External Proof
External Proof
The external proof of God is through His creation of the heavens and earth and man in His image. Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God created time (in the beginning), Space (Heavens) and matter (earth). Though he created them he is both outside of them and inside of them. God is not limited by time space and matter, however He chooses to operate in time space and matter.
God also in His creation demonstrated that his creation has a designer. He is the designer. We did not evolve to where we are today. God created us from the beginning. If you look at the water cycle, life cycle, the seasons of the year, the distinction of sea, land and air. All of these were created by a designer.
Not only did God create the heavens and the Earth, He created us in His image. Genesis 1:26-28
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
God made man in His image. We are Soul Spirit and Body. Our soul is our will (Father) our Spirit is our mind (Holy Spirit) Body is what functions (Jesus). God made us to procreate and rule over His creation.
4 Traditional Proofs of God
4 Traditional Proofs of God
Cosmological Proof
Cosmological Proof
This argument states that everything is created for a purpose. If something has purpose then there has to be one who gives purpose. This is God. God created you for His purpose.
Teleological Proof
Teleological Proof
This argument focuses on order and harmony to fulfill purpose. God created things to function in order. They work in harmony to fulfill His purpose.
Ontological Argument
Ontological Argument
This is the idea of God. There must be something greater and outside of that which is created. Because nothing cannot create something.
Moral Argument
Moral Argument
If there is right and wrong then there is morality. If there is morality then there has to be a moral law giver. God is the Moral Law giver
