What do you thin k it means to have a heartache?
Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Peter had just preached i what was called the sermon of Pentecost.
Right after peter got done the Bible tells us that those listening were cut to the heart.
Meaning as Peter preached they realized all the wrong they have done in their life.
So they became convicted.
Now we all do wrong, we all sin.
What is something that comes to your mind that would be a sin?
No matter what we can see we all have sinned.
this means we are unworthy of God’s grace.
Yet, jesus went to the cross of Calvary to die for our sins and gave us an opportunity to be saved.
All we have to do is believe in him and repent of our sins.
Meaning we ask him for forgiveness and we leave our old sins alone, we don’t do them anymore.
But none of this is possible if we do not realize that we sin.
That is the job of the Holy spirit.
To show us that we are sinners, and that we need Jesus in our life.
Now those who realized that was what the Holy Spirit was telling them in Acts 2:37 asked the disciples.
“what shall we do?"
Well the disciples told them example what I just told you.
Repent and believe.
So guys, that is all we have to do to.
We have to repent of the sins in our life and begin a new life living for God.
In fact it is the most important decision we could make.
Because on our own we cannot do it and sin will always be a part of our life.
you see, these who heard peter were having a heartache, because they had realized that they have sinned and done wrong.
They knew that because they had sinned they were going to go to hell, and even more so they realized that their sin kept them from God and that they had failed him.
So they wanted to know, what can we do?
When you realize that you have sinned you must repent and believe in jesus Christ.
If you do not you are not pleasing the one who made you.
Without his grace, we are nothing.
