All night long and into the morning, Jesus was falsely accused, publicly humiliated, disgracefully mocked, mercilessly beaten, blindfolded and struck, dressed in a gorgeous robe, and crowned with thorns. Though Pilate and Herod declared him innocent, he was condemned to die – to atone, to make us “at-one” with God!
