In these verses, Paul speaks of how Christ has gifted each member of the united church. He supports Christ’s gifts in the church from Psa 68:18. Then he draws two important conclusions from Psa 68. All of this supports Paul’s main point, that, while the church of Christ is one, Christ has gifted the particular members of the church for the church’s singular mission between Christ’s first and second coming.
