Elizabeth prophesied about Mary and her Child
the Messiah, the anointed one of God. to be the savior of the world
God made flesh to be our perfect sacrifice for sin
The baby John leaped in his mothers womb when he heard the mother of his Messiah
At the end of her prophecy, Elizabeth declared that Mary was blessed because she believed.

V 50 Mercy
Not giving to us what we deserve
Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Mercy)
Mercy as given by God is the foundation of forgiveness. It is His faithfulness and steadfast love. God is not seen as displaying an emotion called mercy but as taking merciful action. This action was taken as Israel was in need: provisions such as manna in the wilderness , protection such as the Shepherd who keeps Israel and does not sleep , and deliverance as Yahweh who delivered His people from Egypt . Mercy has never been the benefit of God’s people because of their merit but is always the gift of God. “The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving kindness and truth; who keeps loving kindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave sin unpunished
V 51 with his power
The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
He controls the world
So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to salvation.
V 52 Daniel 4 28-end
V 53
But the lovingkindness of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children’s children,
His Mercy To Israel
His Mercy To Israel
V 54 because God is merciful
because God is compassionate
because God keeps His promises
V 55 because He remembers the promise, not the evil
But God said, “No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
this covenant will last for eternity
why because God promised it
Mary’s song is similar to Hannah’s song
1 Sam 2 1-10
Mary’s song was a remembrance of the promises of God
Mary had scripture memorized, the psalms memorized
When she her soul burst fourth with praise it was because of what she knows of God
it is what she knows of what God has done for her
she uses words from the Holy Scripture
David says he meditates day and night on God’s word
how can he if he does not know it?
if it is not already in his heart
Mary’s song of praise came from her whole being
not just mouthing words.
her heart was happy and full of joy
When you praise does scripture come to your lips?
when you pray do you pray scripture?
Mary gives us a great example of some one who trusts
some one who’s faith is in the almighty
why? because of what she knows of the almighty
She knows history
she knows scripture
she knows her savior
faith comes by hearing about our savior
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
our faith is increased when we remember
Mary could have dwelled on the negativity of the situation
but instead she gave us a beautiful song
