For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
It is the responsibility of every Christian to share the good news
It is the responsibility of every Christian to share the good news
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
This was the greatest event of the eternities. The eternal Son was Justified, Made Alive in spirit, and put off from Himself the principalities and the powers, making a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
He triumphed over Satan.
He conquered the hosts of Hell. He stripped Satan of the authority and dominion that he had taken from Adam at the Fall.
You were with Him when that battle took place. You were Identified with Him. Just as you were Identified with Him when He was Crucified, when He Died, when He was Buried, when He was Made Alive, when He was Justified, you were with Him in that victory over the adversary. It was your victory, not His. He did not need to fight that battle; He did it for you.
When He conquered the adversary and stripped him of his authority, in the mind of the Father it was as though you had done it. You are Satan’s master today, just as Jesus was when He arose from the dead. Just as Jesus conquered the adversary during His earth walk, you can conquer him today. It means your mastery over all the works of Satan. It means that you are expected to do the works that Jesus began. This was the end of defeat and failure. This was the beginning of a new era. It is time that we appreciated what God has done for us in Christ. It is time that we appreciated what it means to be a member of the body of Christ, that we appreciate the position in which He has placed us and the authority He has given us in the Name of Jesus. When He defeated Satan, it was our victory. We are now the Righteous victors. We are Satan’s masters. We now reign as kings in the realm of life through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. Satan cannot lord it over us any longer. Disease is under our feet. We are New-Creation sons. There is no problem of faith.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
“I am a partaker of God’s very nature.
I have in me His faith nature.
This makes me a child of faith.
I am born of the Living Word through the Holy Spirit.
The real me was recreated in Christ.
I have the very nature of God and God is love,
so I have in me the love nature of God the Father.” If we meditate on this we will no longer be “double-minded men.”
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 10:10 (NKJV)
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
It is the name of Jesus that enables us to win in our daily conflicts
It is the name of Jesus that enables us to win in our daily conflicts
While here in the flesh, Jesus was the all-powerful One; God always heard His prayers, and permitted Him to use Omnipotence as He willed.
The Holy Spirit was to come into them and enable them to use His Name in the will of God, so that it would be as though Christ were again in the flesh exercising this Divine power, only in a larger sense, because there will be so many using His Name.
All power is in the Name of the risen Man Christ Jesus Who is seated at the Father’s right hand in the heavens.
The power is not in fasting or consecration, not in long prayers, but it is in the simple Name of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God.
Men are seeking power—they call it Pentecostal power—they seek it in all directions but the right one; it is in the Name—seek it there. If you learn to use the Name according to the Word, in the power of the Spirit, you have the secret which shook the world through the apostles.
This is one of the startling statements of the Gospel:
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
“Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My Name, that will I do.” Notice Jesus said, “You ask—and I will do it.” This is a most wonderful thing—prayer simplified.
“You do the asking,” Jesus says, “and I will do the doing.”
Jesus says all authority has been given unto Him in heaven and on earth. Jesus’ power is unlimited, and now He challenges you to do unlimited asking. He is big enough to do anything you ask Him to do. His authority is great enough to see that any request from you is honored. For that unsaved friend, He says, “You ask for his salvation and I will do it.” It may be your church is cold and your pastor as bound as Lazarus in the grave clothes of convention, yet you ask and Jesus says, “I will do it.” He will warm the Church. You ask for a revival—Jesus will “do it.”
The true and lasting peace is found in Jesus Christ
The true and lasting peace is found in Jesus Christ
John 14:27–28 (NKJV)
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
“peace that passeth all understanding.” It moves up out of the realm of the senses into the realm of the spirit.
No matter what the persecutions may be, peace like a river flows through the spirit.
No matter what the turmoil is around, the peace of God rules.
Jesus said, “My peace I give unto you.” That is one of the most outstanding features of the divine life.
There can be Joy in the midst of death, and peace in the midst of agony. This fulness not only has love, joy, and peace, but all the fruits of the recreated spirit seen in
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Here is the peace of God. God’s peace, God’s holy quietness, comes into the heart of the new-born in Christ. It is a peace we cannot understand. Jesus is that peace. Eph. 2:14, “For He is our peace.” This is perhaps the greatest blessing that can come to the human heart. Peace means “utter quietness,” “rest.”
It is the rest of faith. We are no longer afraid of the Judgment, or of death, or of what man can do unto us. We are not afraid of Satan. We know that he is conquered. We know that we rule over him. We know that he, and his works, are beneath our feet in Christ. This is the peace that Jesus spoke of in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you.”
