Leave the 99 for the one.
Leave the 99 for the one.
2 Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” 3 So He told them this parable, saying, 4 “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 “When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 “And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 “I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
This parable is talking about people who have left the family of God.
This past few years I believe that God has been giving us His heart for the ones who need help in our lives.
Many people have been taking time to care for a loved one and that is exactly what God wanted.
God wants His family to be a family that is willing to leave the group to take care of the ones in need or the lost in soul.
God also wants us to be willing to return back to the family after we have done what He asked of us.
This another reason for the church at Home groups.
In the gatherings where you are now you could easily find the one person who needs to not be alone.
12 “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? 13 “If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. 14 “So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.
