The Fundamentals of the Faith.

Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The Old Testament foretold. The New Testament proclaims.

1) For the Christian, believing the deity of Christ is a must. God proclaims the Gospel message. [Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel]. This is the first promise of salvation from God. Her seed: virgin birth.

Luke 1:31: And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Overshadow is to cover--to cover with the glory of God. [Luke 1:35: And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God].

Galatians 4:4: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

2) For the Christian, believing the deity is a miracle. We must accept the virgin birth by faith. His birth was normal, but His conception was a miracle. The Bible is full of miracles.

3) For the Christian, believing the deity is a message. [I Corinthians 2:14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned]. The natural man is unsaved. He does not want anything to do with God.
