Religion is mans attempt to convince God through activity, in order to get Him to be favorable to you.
There are 5 areas where Satan will cause us to be watered down through a sense of false religion.
1. Traditionalism
Traditions can get us into a rut and cause us to be deterred from the calling of God.
2. Externalism
Satan will cause us to be consumed with the opinions of others.
What we say, how we act, what we post online can all be with the intent of pleasing others.
3. Ritualism
External activity that will make you think that the ritual brings spiritualism.
4. Narcissism
Narcissism will tell us that our religious activity is sufficient for Gods pleasure.
5. Legalism
The mis application of God’s rules.
It is pursuing rules at the expence of relationships.
It is taking that which is right and good and allowing to become our motivation.
Holiness is a bi-product of a relationship with God and not the goal.
B. Worth of salt.

When we allow ourselves to be filled with the power of God, and we allow Gods spirit to flow through us, then we will be used of God to bring spiritual healing to people that God brings into our lives.

Permeated salt is good for nothing more than to walk upon and then when the rain comes will be washed away.
There is a true story about a train that was barreling down the track towards a bridge that was out.
An engineer saw it and waved a red flag meaning to stop the train moved forward and went into the river killing 18 people aboard but the conductor survived.
Following this event the conductor and the engineer spoke and the engineer asked the conductor why he failed to stop. the conductor replied because you were waving a white flag.
Th engineer said “ No, I was waving a red flag” to which the conductor said “No, you were waving a white flag”.
The engineer again stated that he was waving a red flag and took the conductor to the flag.
The flag was red but faded so that it looked white.
To many christians have allowed the testimony of the blood of Christ to become faded and we are no longer effective in our testimony to a lost world.
II.
Light.
A. Source of our light.
Our source of light is not ourselves but rather the light of the gospel shining through us.

B. Salt and the Light.
As we began to have salt in us Mark 9:50 then the light of the Gospel will began to shine through us.
If the gospel light is not shining then it is because we have lost our savor and sin has diluted our testimony.
How about it church will you ask God to shine through your life.
Will you join me in asking God to remove anything in our life that is causing His light to grow dim.
We need the power and light of the gospel..
