Limits - not a requirement, a thought through reminder

Pink - celebration
White - purity

Hope - looking back and looking forward
Peace - the promise that God will bring peace through the Messiah
Joy (pink) - Light breaking through the darkness
Love - That Jesus shows by coming into the world
White - Jesus the fulfillment

Today is about Hope.

The prophet - calls for repentance and declares hope for the future

for Isaiah - 6
Judah - 7
Israel - 9-11
Isaiah 9:6 ESV
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
The new king will bring freedom from oppression

The phrase upon his shoulder denotes carrying a burden of responsibility

Government - a group of people to make everyone existence better

2 nouns bound together; literally “wonder of counselor, god of power, father forever, prince of peace.”

Wonderful Counselor - advice is amazing and marvelous

They don’t just tell you want you want. They change your life.
Counseling good and bad
THEIR HOPE WAS SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTOOD

Mighty God - Power and strength to the max

Yet an infant who can’t eat
All the power yet not for him
OUR HOPE IS FOR MAX POWER UNDER CONTROL

Everlasting Father - Care that is never ending

Protect and care
HOPE THAT LOVE WILL WIN

Prince of Peace - Prince who brings about peace

Ukraine
Uses his authority to bring peace
HOPE THAT PEACE WILL RULE

CONCLUSION

God’s government is something we can be apart of
not laws but transformation
Peace with Jesus we have ultimate peace we are waiting for.
We are anticipating and preparing for Jesus’ second coming with Hope.
