Number one: Malachi 3-10
Do you know there are some churches that will kick you out if you aren’t tithing. Usually, these type of churches pass around the offering basket like 5 times in one service. This is a red flag that you should leave That church because it is unbiblical, greedy, and manipulative.
There is nowhere that says that tithing is a requirement, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t give. All Christians should tithe with a cheerful heart, and I will give you; in the next few weeks 5 reasons why, and today will be the first one.
So, here’s the real question, if GOD doesn’t need our money, then why does HE ask that we tithe? The only logical answer is because tithing isn’t for GOD. Meaning, the tithe doesn’t benefit GOD, it benefits you.
Reason one: Tithing Helps You to TRUST God
Reason one: Tithing Helps You to TRUST God
I know we heard this many times in our lives; ‘tithing it’s an old testament scripture’, but it has everlasting meaning to it and I said to myself, I’m not going use this verse, for the HOLY SPIRIT kept leading me to this verse. amen

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in MY house. Test ME in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Mal 3:10) (NIV)
Putting our trust in GOD is hard. GOD’s not a dummy. HE knows it is hard for us. And yet, HE continually asks us to trust HIM. When it doesn’t make sense, GOD asks us to trust Him. When the odds aren’t in our favor, GOD asks us to trust Him. When there doesn’t seem to be any hope, God asks us to trust HIM. Remember? the man who came to Jesus for his son, Jesus asked the man do you believe and the man answered so honestly, he says “I believe help my unbelief.” (Mk 9:23-25)
Trusting in God is extremely important for our walk with GOD, our Pastor he teaches and preaches this.
So, it’s interesting when in Malachi 3:10, GOD asks us to bring the tithe to the storehouse (storehouse = modern day church). GOD actually says, “Test me in this”. FYI, this is the only part in the entire Bible that GOD asks us to test HIM. I think that alone is reason enough for us to pay attention to the tithe. It is clearly important to GOD, and important for us.

The tithe is a part of your heart income, and it should be given to GOD faithfully. Tithing honors, (1) the Scriptural principles of generously providing for GOD’s leaders as our Bishop Yancy, (2) giving to those in need, (3) and laying up treasures in heaven.

In this verse GOD is basically saying, if you take care of MY house, test ME and see if I won’t take care of YOUR house. I will throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing, there won’t be enough room to receive it.
GOD is basically saying, trust ME on this one. Test ME even.
Just see if I won’t bless you. It should be an honor to tithe.
Reason Two: John 6:4-13
Reason Two: John 6:4-13
Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near. Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.”Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.”
We don’t know at all if this lad’s fish and loaf’s was his Chore. Given by his mother or father. whatever it was among this congregation, there was this little grateful child who had five loaves of barley and two small fish, whether it was his lunch or a chore to go get some vittles for his home. We don’t know. When this child was asked if he would contribute his loafs of bread and the two fishes to the Lord Jesus Christ, he gave it all. The Lord took up the five little loaves of barley and the two fishes and he looked at the multitude over 5000, prayed over it to. bless the love offering, the food.
And what happened to the little that the young boy from his heart gave? The little became much when entrusted into the MASTER’s hand. And one of the most wonderful storys that has not been written; that little child who live the life of gratitude to the LORD, who has given all of his lunch or household provision, can you imagine leaving with 12 extra baskets. That is what GOD wants for us in our tithing, an attitude of gratitude, remember how this story started off; “But this He said to test him Philip, for He Himself knew what He would do.” You and I are just stewards. And we want to be good stewards. Amen
Reason Three:
When it comes to tithing in the New Testament, many people debate exactly what the bible says about it. In (2 Cor 9:6-10), Christians are called to generously give in response to the gospel of the LORD JESUS, based on faith in God as Provider. “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness”
When we give to the church, it helps the church do more good in the world — which is precisely what God has asked us to do. When we tithe, the church can go forth and teach more people about God. Develop mature disciples for kingdom outcome, and gospel impact.
To make things a bit easier, here are three general rules you should make sure are true for you and our Impact Church when you tithe.
You strongly agree with the church’s mission, and those running it. Do you believe we as, Impact Church is a HOLY SPIRIT led church?
Most of you regularly attend the church and are invested in its community and growth. You’ve seen the things that have been done and the planing of future events.
You tithe happily, not because you have to or are obligated to, but because you authentically want to.
We are all about happy and healthy giving because its the most sustainable form of support a church can ever receive. A happy and supportive church body makes all the difference when it comes to building a lasting financial foundation for GOD’s ministry. amen.
