YHWH’s wrath is aroused by the failure of His people to love one another and to devote themselves to one another’s well-being.
This is what the Law is all about! The first 5 commands deal with our relationship with God & the second 5 are about our relationship with one another.
The way in which supreme love for and devotion to God manifests itself relationally is in love for and devotion to one another’s well-being.
This is why the NT is chock full of “one another” statements.
This is was the design and purpose of human creation in Eden. God created Adam to be in perfect relationship with Him and in perfect relationship with other humans. That’s why, after the fall of man in Genesis 3, the first sin we read about is murder.
The most dangerous place a child of God can find themselves is a place where they’ve convinced themselves that there are no repercussions for their sin.
OUTLINE

NOW - idolatry & failure
Main Point - When we fail to love God supremely and devote ourselves to Him wholly, we fail to love one another and devote ourselves to one another’s well-being.
Read & Explain *selected* text
There is One who perfectly lived this out...
Love justice, do mercy, walk humbly.
He clothed himself in humility.
Perfect priest, prophet, and king.
A greater brother - “co-heir”
How do we self-examine? How does this look at Taylor Road?
