I love a number one at Chick Fil-A, I may even say that it is priceless to me.
Think of something you find as priceless. Family time, A certain car, Friendships, Gaming console, Phone, Pets.
We all have certain wants and things we look at as necessary to our life, but there is only one thing we truly need in this life.
I want you guys to see the life changing power of Christ and understand the importance of sharing it.
We are going to be reading a Bible story about how God took what a man wanted and gave him what he really needed.

1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple for the time of prayer at three in the afternoon. 2 A man who was lame from birth was being carried there. He was placed each day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so that he could beg from those entering the temple. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked for money. 4 Peter, along with John, looked straight at him and said, “Look at us.” 5 So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have silver or gold, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!” 7 Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong. 8 So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 All the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 and they recognized that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. So they were filled with awe and astonishment at what had happened to him. 11 While he was holding on to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astonished, ran toward them in what is called Solomon’s Colonnade.
Peter and John were a few of Jesus disciples.
The man in this story was Lame from Birth, meaning he could not walk and during this time period there were no government support services so without begging he could not provide for himself and survive.
He wisely positioned himself in front of a temple in hopes that he could beg hard enough and find people more likely to provide gold and silver.
The man wanted Gold and Silver, this is the reason he was in front of the temple, but God knew the real need was healing. Peter healed him in the name of Jesus.
You can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
2. God used this as a testimony to amaze others at the power he has.
The man responded to the healing by walking, leaping, and praising God.
This impacts everyone in the room. They all saw it, whether they decided to follow Christ because of this or not it was still a testimony of God’s power.
God and his power is priceless. His word and his work speaks for itself. People notice when God does a work.

This passage talks about the power of God to change someone’s life and how he is more valuable than anything else we could ever have.
What are you suffering from?
We all have a sin problem. We need healing just like this man. Without the healing of Christ we are destined for hell.
we seek value in so many things of the world to make us feel complete, but God wants so much more for us.
He wants us to experience eternal healing through him and all we have to do is put our faith in him and follow after him.
We put our value in so many things not named Christ today:
Relationships
Reputation
Possessions
Money
Fill in the blank
Jesus has life changing power. It is so important for us to share that with the world.

Share the good news with your friends. It is the only thing that will provide permanent fulfillment.
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
God has called for us to not stop here tonight at Midweek. He is calling us to leave here and share his name with everyone we come across, that can start with one person. It could be as simple as inviting them to church.

Tonight maybe you are like the man in this story. You have sought value in things of the world, but need the healing power of Jesus.
Maybe you look at your life and think, I don’t know that healing power. I feel plagued in the weight of my life and my sin and I need the healing only Jesus can provide.
