And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
A. Who Is This?
1. Many go to church but they have no idea who they
they are worshipping or giving thanks to.
2. They went through the motion laying down palm
branches, but it was like praying over a meal,
formality.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
B. When we see the pit of hell, and the nail prints in the
hand of Jesus, only then will the reality of the true sense
of being thankful will set in.
The feast celebrated by the pilgrims in 1621 was never actually called “Thanksgiving” by the colonists.
It was simply a harvest celebration.
A few years later, in July of 1623, the pilgrims did hold what they called a “Thanksgiving.”
This was simply a religious day of prayer and fasting that had nothing to do with the fall harvest.
A revelation of true thanksgiving.
What are you thankful for on this thanksgiving day?
