Believe it or Not... The Lord Hates Sin!

“There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”

These days, it seems as if no one wants to discuss sin, or we try to minimize sin so that we won’t hurt anyone’s feelings. This way no one has to confront what is wrong with the world around us. We keep ourselves numb to the sexualization and indoctrination of our children, we have made being sexually immoral as a badge on honor, we have people who claim to follow God do sick, unnatural things with and to their bodies. We as a society both mock God and act as if he does not exist. I am so appalled at what I see and hear at times I get physically ill. And of course, there are those who align themselves with such wickedness and attempt to make the Christian seems as if he or she is wrong to stand firm in what they believe in! We need to understand that God hates sin, and there are repercussions for blatantly continuing in those sins. Those who reject or deny the Lord Jesus will have a heavy price to pay when it is all said and done.

Some of the most convicting passages come from the book of Proverbs, verses 16-19, where King Solomon describes the sin that God hates. Let’s not get it twisted, God hates all sin, but these in this particular list, lead to other sins being committed.
