I. Love Brings Light and Joy vs. 2-3

A. Isaiah was preaching during a really dark time. Their nation was declining in every aspect, and confusion and depression ruled the day.
B. Jesus lights the way. This world is not our home, but Jesus gives us light that even if it won’t be fixed this side of Heaven, that we will have light at the end of this life.
C. Jesus causes us to rejoice, especially in difficult and ark times. (Phillip Yancey’s visit to Pollsmoor prison in South Africa [one of the worse prisons in the world]).

II. Love Brings Freedom vs. 4-6a, 7

A. Jesus breaks the chains of sin.
B. Jesus fights our battles, we just have to stand (Spiritual warfare ex.) Eph. 6:13
Ephesians 6:13 NASB95
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
C. One day jesus will set up the perfect kingdom. We will be freer on the New Earth, than we ever were on this Earth.

III. Love Brings Hope and Peace vs. 6b

A. Jesus gives wonderful counsel, which gives hope.
B. He is mighty God, He has always got it under control, even when it looks out of control.
C. He is our Eternal Heavenly Father, so He is watching out for us, with an eternal perspective.
D. He is the prince of peace. He brings peace to our hearts because He loves us.
