Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Matthew 1:18-25 Sunday, December 4, 2022 Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child AMAZING AND SPECTACULAR BIRTHS Isaac Samson Samuel John The Baptist  The Virgin Birth Of The Lord Jesus Christ Surpasses All Of These Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child (MATT 1:18-25 NIV) (18) This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. (19) Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.(20) But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child (21) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.“ (22) All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: (23) "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us.“ (24) When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. (25) But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. (Matthew 1:18 NIV) (18) Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child No Human Agent Of Conception With Child By The Holy Spirit He Was Uniquely Human And Divine This Was Not His Beginning God Became Flesh Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Jesus Had No Earthly Father An Angel Affirmed Supernatural Origin A Sinless Babe Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Why Is This So Important ? If Jesus Was Not God And If He Was Not Both Divine And Sinless -- He Could Not Save The World Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child This Child Is A Savior (Matthew 1:21 NIV) (21) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." The Name Jesus = “The Lord Shall Save” Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Jesus Is Able To Save Us From The Power Of Sin The Penalty Of Sin Jesus Established the Way of Salvation For The Human Race. He Came To Fulfill Our Greatest Need: We Need A Savior Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child This Child Is A Fulfillment Of Prophecy  (Matt 1:22 NIV) (22) All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Important Prophecies Concerning Jesus Messiah Would Be Born Of A Virgin Messiah Would Be Born In The Family Lines Of Both King David And Abraham Messiah Would Be Born In Bethlehem Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child He Would Be Betrayed By A Friend He Would Be Tortured And Beaten He Would Rise From The Dead  This Child Is A Fulfillment Of O.T. (26) Such a high priest meets our need--one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Jesus Became The Perfect Sacrifice For All Who Believe On His Name  His Sinless Life: (Heb 4:15 NIV) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child The Virgin Birth Must Be Accepted By Faith. Belief In The Virgin Birth Is A Cornerstone of Our Faith Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child This Child Is God With Us (V.23) (Matt 1:23 NIV) (23) "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us." Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child The Greatest Personality In The Entire Universe Wants To Have Something To Do With You And Me God Is The Initiator - Not You Or Me. Immanuel Means “God Is With Us”… not "We Are With God" Jesus: One-of-a-Kind Child Jesus Christ Is Conceived By Holy Spirit Jesus Christ Will Save People From Their Sins Jesus Christ Is A Fulfillment Of Prophecy Jesus Christ Was Born Of A Virgin Jesus Christ Is God With Us
