Isaiah 9:6 NASB 95
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Government

We tend to hear this word and think about nations, cities, etc, but government here is not talking about localities.
Government means rule or dominion; authority

Rest

Hebrew term is translated many different ways in the OT, but the basic meaning it to be or become
Authority belongs to Christ

He will be called:

Wonderful Counselor

counsel; to give advice

one who speaks and urges certain directions of actions or thought, implying the advice given is considered wise and valuable

Jesus is not merely counselor, but wonderful counselor
Astonishingly; incomprehensibly

Mighty God

“el” is the Hebrew term for God or gods
Strong, mighty; champion, mighty warrior, hero

Eternal Father

everlasting; no beginning or end
He was, and is, and is to come
Father has become a trigger word for many because of difficult family upbringings, but that does not change the fact that God is our Father: our beginning

Prince of Peace

Chief, ruler, official, captain, commander, quartermaster; superintend; oversee a task with implied authority
“Shalom”

completeness, soundness, welfare,
