( Prayer)
O Lord, how easy it is to lose hope, to begin to apply our limited view of life and eternity to you.
How foolish of us to doubt your promise, your faithfulness.
Lord, we confess that in doing that we have not loved others as we should.
We have not communicated your love to those who do not know you.
And yet, it is your very heart of love that prompts your delay.
How could we have missed that!
How like you to be patient.
How like us to be impatient.
Lord, as we await your coming, by your Holy Spirit allow us to apply ourselves to godly living.Help us to grow even more in our appreciation of your grace.
Make us holy people.
We pray this in the name of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
2 Peter 3:17-18 New International Version
17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and forever!
Amen.
