Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
It seems that Jesus wants all his disciples to know all the commands he gave to his disciples over the time he was on the earth. How do we process this? What are some questions?
How do Jesus’ commands apply in various sphere’s and situations of life?
Some key passages about what Jesus wants and expects:
Matthew 19:17 (NKJV)
So He said to him (rich young ruler), “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
John 8:51 (NKJV)
“Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”
John 14:15 (NKJV)
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
John 14:21 (NKJV)
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
John 14:23 (NKJV)
Jesus answered and said to him(Judas (not Iscariot)), “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
John 15:10 (NKJV)
“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
So, Jesus is pretty serious about us keeping and practicing His commandments.
