Ain’t that the truth! I do live it is much more than just thinking positive.

Im no motivational speaker but I belive there is too much negativity in todays world, and I'm afraid its wanting to plague the minds of every believer...

Today I feel like shutting up the mouth of our enemy, I wonder if there is anyone here that feels that way? Is there anyone that would like to shut the mouth of your enemy?....

It is so easy for us to fall prey to the voice of our enemy and flesh, but there is a voice that desires to be the greatest influence in our life and that is the voice of the Spirit...

It is time to drown out the voices that speak contrary to the Voice of the Spirit.

Introduction

Before Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile on May 6th 1954

On Iffley road in Oxnard England, Psychologists, doctors and athletes themselves had contended that running a mile under four minutes wasn’t only impossible, it might actually lead to death.

For years, so many atheletes tried and failed and were convinced that it was not humanity possible.

The World record at the time was set by a man named Gunder Hagg at 4.13 seconds. The human body simply was not equipped to accomplish such feat, they said.

On a deeper level the message was clear; there are certain limits about us, certain limits that we simply can’t surpass. I tend to belive this is the mind set that many times holds us back…

Bannister had a different belief. At the time, he himself was studying to be a physician, Bannister didn’t just think the human body could run a mile under four minutes, but that he was going to be the one to do it.

He went on to break the world record seting it at 3 minutes and 59.4 seconds. Guess what? just 46 days later, the record was broken again.

• He made history in the sports world because he chose not to be of the same belief and not only that decided he was going to be the one to show that it could be done.

• The obstacle was not in the body, it was in the mind!

• Who says we cannot have revival; Who says we cant double in the next year

Hebrews 11:33-35 “who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.”

I wonder what would happen if someone became conceived that this could happen in your life! We can win East Texas for Jesus Christ through the Apostolic message!!!

I. The Battle in the Mind

A. You will never get beyond the barriers that you have in your mind.

1. If you believe you cannot accomplish anything, then do not expect to accomplish it ever.

2. If you are defeated in your mind, you have lost the battle.

3. If you belive that your dreams will never come to pass than they will not come to pass.

The obstacle is in the mind, that is why it is important that we have positive thoughts, full of hope, faith and victory.

Can someone shout, “Holy Ghost, touch my mind!”

Im telling you I've come to war in the face of my adversaries....

WE BELONG TO HIM!

A. In the story of the Exodus, the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt to take them into a promised land.

a. Many times we associate the promise land for us with heaven, but they were giants there and war there.

God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8-9

Joshua 1:8–9 NKJV

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

1st Step, Hold fast to the word of God, then? Be thou strong and of good courage. Believe and obey whats in that book and then pursue without fear.

I belive that the promise land are promises God has given us for us to posses, such as a harvest, prosperous life, Spirit filled life, miracles sings and wonders etc...

a. It was an 11-day journey, but it took them 40 years to get there. Why did they wander in the dessert without much progress?

I tend to be live it was because previously they had been oppressed for such a long time that now they had a hard time believing God.

They went in circles with their eyes fixed on their issues, griping and complaining. ( Trust me here, I been trying to do my best not to do this)

Many of us come from some pretty rough backgrounds where we became accustomed to hardship, suffering, anxiety, depression, hopelessness, despondency, and we somehow are convinced that that is how to be in living for God.

My Cousin came down for the holidays and we touched on this for a bit, it struck me, “what we do or say while were in our dessert matters to God”.

Often times the dessert reveals whats really in our heart. It proves us.. I teaches us and forms one thing for certain its not meant to destroy us, or for us to fall prostate while we are in there.

Americas Song “ Horse with no name” was said that it was banned in Kansas radio stations for its supposed drug refrance to heroin “ Horse being a common slang term for heroin. The song goes on to say “ I been through the dessert on a horse with no name, felt good to be out of the rain”

Folks believe it to mean the songwirter was alluding to heroin being the horse that was used to get out of the Rain. A vehicle to get away from life's confusion into a quiet peaceful place… bet yall did not think i knew about this song, but I did listen to a Little Rock back in the day.

This is what im trying to get at with this.... that there is a place of peace and joy unspeakable free from anxiety in the likes of which this world cannot offer for it is only found in Holy Ghost....

There is a place and state of abundance found in God where we do not look at stuff to satisfy… It is found in a relationship with God.

When the activity of the Holy Ghost begins to decrease in our life the appetite for the flesh will begin to increase.

You can get to a place where your so full of the Holy Ghost where you can look around and not be fazed...

I. Do not let your past determine your future.

a. It does not matter how many times you’ve suffered, well it does but you Know what I mean, today is new day.

i. Maybe you have lived a life of abuse, not necessarily physically but mentally, someone treated you wrong and caused damage.

ii. PLEASE do not destroy a great future that the Lord has for because you are camped in the past and can’t get over the pain.

iii. Ive been told in the past I was good for nothing and for years it held me captive until I realized I am good at something.

Many years I would attempt to be successful but when I failed instead of getting back up and try it again, I gave it up and a just lived life being

tossed to and fro like a boat going down stream with no effort.

b. When someone has mistreated you, plead with God to help you keep a right spirit.

i. God is a just God

b. In order to effectively walk forward we must forgive the past hurt and keep on trucking.

i. If you change the way you think God can change your life around.

ii. We can’t continue with thoughts of, "well I'm always going to struggle financially, emotionally, spiritually, I guess I will not ever have an abundant life." and then expect for God to fill us abundantly.

These two concepts are not compatible.

iii. People who think small, believe small and because of that they receive small. Later they ask themselves why nothing great has ever happened. What would happen if we were to expand the way we think Life Church?

You might fell well my buisness is small, hey amazon and apple both started in a garage.

iiii. This type of way of thinking pre disposes us to defeat.

You are more incline to fail when you think you are going to fail.

This is why the enemy fights so hard to discourage us, cast doubt and fear, because if he can convince us we will self destruct.

b. God wants us to live the life of a conqueror, He wants us to conquer.

c. He doesn’t just want us to barley survive. He is not a stingy God nor a small God!!! He's not holding out on us, but can we belive for the impossible?

i. Gods desire for us to experience things that are impactful.

Hes telling us today to make room for growth! To Broaden our boarders, think outside the box.

b. God is wanting us to get up today and put an end to a mentalit's of defeat. It does not matter where we come from, who we are related, you indivually can be great for God.

i. He wants you to establish a new standard.

b. It is important that we begin to speak positively, to speak phrases of victory.

Our words have power

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Daniel Seagraves in His book Proverbs, Ancient Wisdom or Todays World wrote,

Nothing states the awesome power of the tongue more clearly than this proverb. The tongue literally promotes life or death. (See James 3.) Those who love death will reveal it by their conversation, and they will “eat the fruit” or suf- fer the consequences of such evil talk. Those who love life will also reveal it by their conversation, and they will enjoy the positive consequences of the right use of the tongue.

I Challange someone today to determine in their heart, from this day forward “ I will make a better use of my tongue, I want to expereiance the positive, not the negative consequenses.

i. Speak more positively and it will break chains that generations before had tied others up.

ii. We must make the decision to be the person that makes the difference

iii. We were born to win, for greatness, to be victorious. That is why HE gave us His nature when we got the Spirit of the Lord, now that old one is still there but if we keep it crusified through repentance we can have the victory.

If you need the new nature the Holy Ghost offers, you can have it today… In order to recieve it we must begin with repentance… You can have a fresh start today.... Clean slate.... 2nd Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This can be you story today… In Fact Jesus said in John 3:3-6

John 3:3–6 NKJV

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

You can have that born again experience today....

The Lord is saying to someone today, you have been in the same place for too long.

• It is time to go to another level.

• It is time for a fresh vision.

It is time to bring down the barriers, the walls in your mind. Forget the offences of yesterday.

Remember that failure brings birth to failure.

Today is a new day, why doesn’t someone this morning come to the altar and make the decision “I will not be held captive, I will get the victory. I will make a commitment to live an attitude of faith.” “I do not want to wander in the dessert but I want to possess all that the Lord has for me.”
