The assurance of salvation, and young believers and me a young preacher. We need to examine ourselves to see what kind of believer we really are. I believe in the insecurity of make_believers. Judas was never right with God but he looked like an apostle, he acted like an apostle, and he had power, I believe, to perform miracles. He went out with the others, and they not able to identify him as being a phony, but he was.

Review of what we know from Chapter 1
Our fellowship with the Father and each other is through Jesus
Fellowship will bring us Joy (Joy to the world)
God is light, and when we have fellowship we will walk in light not darkness
We struggle with sin, but if we confess our sins He will forgive

V1 Abstain from sin, Our advocate is Jesus
we have a sin problem reference chapter 1 “ye sin not”
Explanation of advocate
Advocate with the Father, our status has not changed with the Father.
V2 Jesus is propitiation of our sin and sin of the world
What is propitiation?
V3 We know that we know if we keep His commandments.
What are His commandments?
Motive of keep His commandments
V4 He that says he knows Him, but keepeth not His commandments, is a Liar
action speak louder than words, bible verse, i know its not in there.
V5 Keeping His word, the love of God perfected, Know we are in Him
We are not responsible because we are sinners by nature; we are responsible if we reject the Saviour. We are responsible if we reject the light that comes to us through the Word of God.
